Cancer by Susan Seddon Boulet
By the time I’ve finished writing this Venus will have moved into Cancer. The books always mention that this is a sentimental combination. We may, indeed, find ourselves feeling more sentimental, crying at sad movies and greeting card commercials. Certainly issues of security, safety, the need for a stable home base and comfort will raise their heads above the parapet, which could also bring up vulnerabilities and emotional attachments. In fact, this could be a time when we find ourselves attempting to cling onto beliefs, values, that misshapen pillow, situations and people in our lives that no longer feed us. How we nurture and how we are nurtured may acquire more importance, which could also manifest through food and especially comfort foods. Remember eating is indeed a way in which we nurture our bodies, perhaps the most important way. However, it is also an energy exchange. Don’t forget to make sure that exchange of energy is an equal one.
“The end is the beginning of all things, Suppressed and hidden, Awaiting to be released through the rhythm Of pain and pleasure.” ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti
“I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious Ambiguity.” ~ Gilda Radner
So, I would like to take this opportunity to announce that I am moving on the 5th of September. I am moving my body, my practice and my life back to the Mendocino Coast of California.

You will, of course, still be able to reach me via my email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Skype (robin_okiegirl). In the coming new year, I plan to get a beginning astrology class up and running. In the meantime, my astrology practice is going stronger than ever. However, for the next six weeks, my time will be very limited. Other than current commitments, all consultations will be completed sometime in October. Also, posts to this blog and my Facebook Page could become somewhat sporadic.

Letting go doesn’t mean that you don’t care about someone anymore. It’s just realizing that the only person you really have control over is yourself.” ~ Deborah Reber, Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul
Now, back to Venus in Cancer. To see where your need for more sensitivity, compassion, security and nurturing will be required, look to the house the sign Cancer falls in. If you don’t have your chart and want one, email me.
Some basic keywords for Venus are… well, the short version is Love and Money. That includes what we love (art, aesthetics and balance get tossed in there), who we love, how we love and also our ability to love ourselves, as well as our possessions, our personal finances, our ability to be self-sufficient and the personal resources available to us. There’s more because there’s always more with astrology but that’s enough to get you through the night, I think.
Remembering that the house is the stage or where the action takes place, here are some very basic key words for the houses:
First: self-image, physical body, our instinct for survival, defense mechanisms, how we start things, where we seek self-awareness
Second: values, possessions, personal finances, where we seek to develop personal resources
Third: communication, short trips, thinking and speaking, where we seek to express ourselves
Fourth: family, home, childhood, security, where we return to reinvent ourselves and seek nurturing
Fifth: creative expression, children, play, romance & occasionally love affairs, drama, where we seek pleasure
Sixth: service, health, work, self-improvement, where we learn humility and seek perfection
Seventh: partnerships, one to one relationships, competitors, lawyers, mediators, justice, where we seek balance
Eighth: transformation, death, taxes, other people’s resources or values, sexuality or where we seek to merge with the Other
Ninth: long distance travel, philosophy, higher learning, expansion, where we seek the Truth
Tenth: public persona, career, responsibility, achievement, reputation, where we seek material success and position
Eleventh: community, our tribe or peer group, our aspirations, where we seek liberation
Twelfth: dreams, private affairs, soul growth, psychic abilities, where we seek to merge with the collective unconscious
Be kind to yourselves.
